Coworking spaces dedicated to artisans are setting up in Île-de-France

Coworking for artisans is the intriguing concept that has just emerged in Lognes (Seine-et-Marne). On October 4, the start-up Lockall inaugurated its first “Maison des artisans”, an 8,000 m2 space specially designed for artisans and small businesses. Between meeting rooms, private offices, storage spaces and workshops: the attributes of a classic coworking space mix with the specificities of the craftsmen's activity. The traditional table football is even there. “We are the only ones to provide this turnkey solution, with so many services,” boasts Alexis De l’Epine, co-founder of Lockall.

Alexis de L’Epine has imagined a service intended for entrepreneurs. In a large modern building, they can rent the space they need at an affordable price. The founder aims to open around twenty of these places in Île-de-France.

A Maison des Artisans opens its doors in Lognes

Customized storage. Located on a completely rehabilitated former industrial site, the Maison des Artisans de Lognes (8,000 m2 and 12 million euros of investments) brings together, under one roof, a complete range of services: 800 storage spaces, 40 coworking spaces, eight offices, 13 private workshops, six meeting rooms, logistics, administration, advice, domiciliation and relaxation. Its goal is to make life easier for artisans, traders and entrepreneurs in the Paris-Vallée de la Marne urban community. 35% of the boxes are already occupied.

Parisian artisanal real estate is clearing a new land deposit. Under Boulevard Haussmann in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, Lockall opened 7,000 m2 of brand new storage premises last September. In the next five years, the start-up is planning 20 similar operations in Ile-de-France.

Lockall, the “gamechanger” of premises for craftsmen

The visible part of Lockall, at 190 boulevard Haussmann, a stone's throw from the Arc de Triomphe, is misleading. If, on the ground floor, the shop occupies the space of a hair salon, it is in the basements that it happens. Lockall, Alexis de l’Epine’s company, has just opened 10,000 m2 of boxes there, on several levels. Storage cells, which range from 0.5 to 50 m², ultra-secure by some 120 video surveillance cameras. These spaces, intended for individuals, artisans and traders, are accessible thanks to an app – a property management system (PMS) – designed by Lockall.
